Back from Lexington

Hola,

I just got back from helping Alisha move into her apartment in Lexington. It was a blast! Admist all the running around we had to do unpacking, thrift store shopping, and getting fer set up at a local bank and the DMV; we found a fair amount of time to just relax and have fun. Alisha's apartment is right on the Maury River which is a local favorite for fishing, canoing, tubing, and swimming. We chose to try swimming. After picking up some water shoes at the local Walmart (gag!), we hopped into the river to see what we could find. Right by appartment were some shallow rapids that were fun lean into. Then we discovered that downriver there were some boulders near shore that we could jump off of. Upriver, there was even deeper water and... a rope swing! I had a ton of fun with that rope swing. I even showed some teenage girls how to use it safely. At the end of each day Alisha and I would just cuddle on the couch and watch a movie or talk. At the end of the weekend we had a little argument about our different driving styles, but we finished off on good terms.

Now I'm back in Richmond. The carpet guys showed up today to put in new carpet at Blake's house. He's still not happy that his grandparents are remodeling the whole place. Unfortunately, he has no clue how disgusting of a condition the place was in while his dad was still alive. I keep praying that I'll be able to reach out to him somehow, but I have the feeling that it's going to take a while. After all, he's an angry teenager who just lost his dad and his mom's in jail for drugs. I'm still confident that God put me with Blake for a reason. I've even had some recent confirmation through some of his neighbors who say they've been praying for Blake for quite some time. I'm going to need some more prayer though.

Other news... I'm kind of disappointed that I haven't called more people since I've left Albion. I want to, but I keep forgetting at the end of the day when I have time. Also, I want to start reading again, but I have to get into the habit. I also want to start practicing guitar more. Sadly, I've also gotten a little addicted to TV. Everday, SpikeTV shows two episodes of StarTrek Deep Space Nine, my favorite of the StarTrek series. I think I'm going to stop wathing it and just promise myself that I'll buy the DVDs someday.

Ok. That's all for now. Talk to ya all later. Adios.
